The Captain is a member of the Millennium forces and the Waffen-SS. He serves as the Major's silent, stoic adjutant and bodyguard. Unlike the Major and Lieutenant Rip van Winkle, he still wears a full uniform, which resembles an M42 Greatcoat with its neck guard constantly turned up, and an M43 officer's cap adorned with the Totenkopf symbol. The Captain is a natural werewolf, capable of transforming at will and fighting in either human or werewolf form. During WWII, Hans once fought against Walter and Alucard, and later confronts the Hellsing forces in London. His seemingly noble behavior contrasts with the rest of Millennium, leaving one to wonder about his true motives. The Captain possesses immense superhuman abilities even while in human form. These include heightened senses, strength (enough to bend steel bars or shatter limbs with a single kick), speed, reflexes, agility, dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance. His iron-like flesh can withstand Walter's wires, which can easily slice through solid steel, even when tightened around his bare neck. He also appears capable of falling from great heights without sustaining any damage. Additionally, the Captain has some regenerative abilities, as evidenced by his quick recovery of a mutilated hand in The Dawn. Besides his natural talents, he wields two modified Mauser C96s with exceptionally long barrels and carries a combat knife that he has yet to use. Note: His name is not Hans Günsche; this was a fan-made name for him due to a scene where various names appeared in the background, and Hans was one of them.
