Sunshine emerged as one of the Devil Knights, a group of Akuma Choujin rumored to have stolen the Golden Mask, a sacred relic on planet Kinniku that was once the head of a god. He battled Geronimo during the Five Story Ring fight inside Warsman's unconscious body. Despite nearly killing Geronimo, he was ultimately defeated by Geronimo's Apache War Cry technique after his weakness to loud noises was exposed. Like the other Devil Knights, he was absorbed by Akuma Shogun before the confrontation with Kinnikuman. Later, Sunshine and Ashuraman escaped and devised a plan to steal the Friendship Power of the Seigi Choujins using Cursed Dolls. They executed their plan during the Dream Tag Tournament, where they competed as the Stray Devil Choujin Combo. After being defeated by Kinnikuman and Kinnikuman Great in the semi-finals, they reformed, but Sunshine was killed by Neptuneman. Sunshine appeared again during the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne as one of the Choujins The Omegaman had captured, killed, and could now transform into. In the sequel series Kinnikuman: Nisei, Sunshine is introduced as a founding member of the dMp and head of their Akuma Choujin division. He pitted his students, Rex King and Check Mate, against the new generation of Seigi Choujin. Ultimately, he blew up the dMp headquarters after his respect for the Seigi Choujin was rekindled following their matches with his pupils.
