Sumire is a young high school girl and the newest member of the Venus Vanguard, despite her intense fear of Viruses. At first, she isn't much help to Lucia. However, they discover that when her body reacts to the special chemical used to combat Viruses (known as the Vaccine), she transforms into a "Berserker Mode," becoming a living Anti-Virus. In this state, she grows stronger and more aggressive, capable of defeating Viruses with her bare hands. Yet, while under this power's influence, she cannot tell friend from foe.
