Tanaka, among the three original upperclassmen, has a more neutral personality. He is less inclined to rant compared to Madarame but is more self-assured than Kugayama. An avid cosplayer and costume designer, Tanaka excels at creating costumes that seem impractical or even impossible. Additionally, he is an expert in building plastic models and is always ready to teach anyone eager to learn.

Although well-versed in various aspects of model and figure culture, Tanaka personally lacks experience in figure-modeling. However, he aims to learn by sculpting a model of Shinobu from Kujibiki Unbalance. Tanaka finds his ideal partner in Ohno, who not only serves as the perfect model for his costumes but also becomes his girlfriend. He also designs costumes for Saki and Ogiue, driven by his passion for costume design rather than any romantic interest.
