The daughter of the head of the spiritual evocation division of the Clock Tower of the Magus Association. She is engaged to Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi due to a strategic marriage arrangement. Her family sought this union with the renowned Lord El-Melloi to salvage their family name after her older brother, who was entrusted with the Sophia-Ri family's magic crest, achieved little success as a mage.
Sola-Ui is introduced in Volume 2 of Fate/Zero as Kayneth's fiancée, and it is evident that she does not get along well with him. While Kayneth acts as Lancer's Master, it is revealed that Sola-Ui is the one providing the Servant with magical energy.
Sola-Ui openly calls Kayneth a coward for not confronting other Masters directly and criticizes his tactics when commanding Lancer in battle. However, she is reprimanded by Lancer, who resents her criticism of his Master, leading her to immediately back down. Kayneth, in turn, sees her submission to Lancer as a sign of her developing affection for the Servant.
