Shouta Mikoshiba is the captain of the First Unit of the Tokkei, boasting a perfect success rate. He is not only highly skilled but also wise and cunning. His weapon of choice is a Colt M1911. In reality, Shouta bears a deep emotional scar from the time he had to kill his former captain, Sakurazawa Tokio. Despite being the person closest to Shouta, Sakurazawa went on a rampage, massacring both criminals and innocents. Severely wounded by Sakurazawa, Shouta managed to shoot him before losing consciousness. This traumatic event often haunts Shouta's dreams. Although he is the top performer in Tokkei, Shouta has a strong aversion to his job and the current state of the Empire. He despises being called 'dolls' and shows more compassion than he lets on. A few years ago, Shouta was coerced by his old friend Hasui Tamao into living together, more like Tamao moved in with him. Due to Hasui's intense hatred for Tokkei, Shouta never managed to uncover his secrets. However, when Hasui is kidnapped by criminals demanding Shouta's involvement, Shouta and Clown rescue him. This event pushes Shouta to his limits, as he endangers those close to him because of his job. Shouta reveals the grim reality to Tamao and decides to move out, cutting all ties with Hasui. Later, after a series of events, Shouta realizes he must protect his fellow Tokkei members, even if it means becoming the devil himself and sacrificing himself to end the current regime. In a tragic turn, Hasui, now brainwashed, is made to shoot Shouta, leading to his death. With Shouta gone, Tokkei is disbanded, and peace seems to have settled. In an additional comic, it is revealed that Sakurazawa's twin brother, Tokiya, tends to the badly injured Shouta, who can barely walk. Both appear content living far away. Shouta sends a note to Hasui, who is mentally broken and in a clinic, reading "One day under that sakura tree," causing Hasui to cry.
