Godai was employed by a small financial firm that operated under the control of the criminal underworld. In a complex scenario, Neuro engaged in a high-stakes bet with all the members of the finance house. After Neuro unraveled the mystery surrounding the boss's death, he took over their office and expelled them. However, Neuro believed Godai could be useful and thus "hired" him (by force) as an all-purpose assistant at Katsuragi's detective agency. Godai is sometimes referred to as "Neuro's second slave."
Godai typically behaves like a rogue—he has a short temper, gets easily agitated, and frequently yells. Surprisingly, though, he is also methodical, dependable, and trustworthy.
