One of the most notorious delinquents in Cromartie, he is a robot but it seems that only the main characters are aware of this fact, including himself. Other delinquents depend on him for his sound advice.

Mechazawa struggles with machines: "Why do you bring ME your electronics? I want to help you guys in any way I can -- even if I have to put my life on the line! But when it comes to MACHINES, I'm helpless myself."

From the character profile: People find it hard to believe that this delinquent is a robot; however, both male and female readers admire Mechazawa for his insightful and practical remarks. Regardless of how one perceives him, Mechazawa is indeed a robot, although he annoyingly tries to pass himself off as human.
