Sasa is an ippon-datara, a monopedal cyclops-like demon that inhabits mountains. He serves as Ageha's accomplice and was involved in an attack on Shizuku, Kaya, and Rinko at Yuto's grandparents' house. Sasa nearly faced death at Shizuku's hands but was spared when Shizuku witnessed Yuto's Light Ferry ability. In his second appearance, Sasa adopts a bipedal form with androgynous features. After Rinko took him out for ice cream at Café Relish, he intervened to stop the fight between Ageha and Himari upon Rinko's request. Sasa possesses the ability to summon giant pillars from the sky to crush opponents, increase his mass at will, and fire energy beams from his eye. Ageha mentions in the anime that Sasa's kind are exceptional sword-smiths, capable of repairing and restoring broken swords to their original condition and strength. In the anime adaptation, Sasa is depicted as bipedal, and his gender has been changed to female, omitting any reference to him being male. Similar to Ageha, Sasa becomes a supporting character after the introduction of Shuten-dōji and Tama, playing a crucial role in restoring Himari's Yasutsuna by shooting it with her eye. This task was originally performed by Kuesu in the manga using time magic to recreate the sword.
