Tsukuba is a senior at Kenichi's school and holds a black belt in the Karate club. His martial arts style blends techniques from both boxing and karate. He is notably strong, with Kenichi remarking during a mental breakdown that "he can take on two members of the Karate club simultaneously, crush rocks with his bare hands, and shatter bats with a single kick."
He served as the referee for Kenichi's match against Daimonji and eagerly sought to test Kenichi's abilities after his victory. Although Tsukuba easily defeated Kenichi, he felt unsatisfied upon discovering bruises on his ankle where Kenichi had grabbed him. When they faced off again, Tsukuba was swiftly overpowered by Kenichi's Yamatzuki and an overhead throw. After reporting his loss to Kisara from Ragnarok, he was instructed to leave town, which marked the beginning of Kenichi's deeper involvement in the martial arts world.
