Apachai is known as the "Shinigami" of Muay Thai and a master at Ryozanpaku. He has also trained in Muay Boran, but he only practices it at night to preserve its tradition and avoids showing it to Kenichi because it's extremely dangerous.
Despite his lethal skills, Apachai has a very childlike nature, making him good with kids and animals (he can even communicate with them). However, when fighting, Apachai struggles to hold back, often nearly killing Kenichi (in one instance from chapter 24, Kenichi needed CPR after cardiac arrest due to an attack by Apachai). This is because Apachai has been in life-or-death battles since young, making deadly strikes a reflex for him. After noticing Kenichi's fear, he learns to control his strength, though he still sometimes knocks out Kenichi during training.
Apachai looks up to Agaard Jum Sai like an older brother. He also has trouble understanding Japanese, which might explain why he never holds back despite everyone telling him to. This language barrier may extend to all languages, as he didn't see the terrifying effects until teaching Kenichi.
When talking, Apachai frequently says "Apa," sometimes yelling "Apapapapa" while fighting or training. He answers the phone with "We have your child hostage" instead of "Hello," likely due to his past with child traffickers.
Apachai is a big eater, especially loving hamburgers, voraciously consuming large amounts of food and occasionally stealing some from Sakaki. This habit stems from his past, where his boss would take away his dinner if he broke his training equipment.
