Kaitou Ace was a romantic interest of Minako's in the series Codename: Sailor V. He emerged as an idol following a nefarious scheme aimed at making girls gain weight. Kaitou Ace assisted the young women of Tokyo in shedding pounds, hosted his own television show, and fought alongside Sailor V much like Tuxedo Mask would later support Sailor Moon. It is eventually disclosed that he is Danburite, who serves under the Shitennou. In the era of the Silver Millennium, he was known as Adonis, a humble foot soldier stationed on Venus. Upon seeing Princess Venus, he fell deeply in love with her, but his affection was destined to be unrequited. He possessed a unique talent for conducting "Love Readings" using playing cards, particularly the Aces from each of the four suits.
In his final confrontation with Sailor V, before his demise, he prophesied that her quest for love would remain perpetually futile. This curse simultaneously liberated her path, allowing her to prioritize her mission over romance without any hesitation.
