Takao is a Jinki Hunter aiming to harness Neene's power to defeat the elusive Source of Infection. Known as a notorious mass murderer, he has claimed dozens, if not hundreds, of lives since becoming a Hunter two years ago. In battles against Jinki Users, he leverages captured Jinki cores from his fallen adversaries to amplify his strength, enabling him to shatter Cages with a single blow. His prowess with a katana further enhances his combat capabilities. He communicates with an enigmatic figure named Julie and seems to have been betrayed by someone called Shiro in the past. Despite having a mangled hand, he managed to engage Joe, Clara, Riku, and Rena simultaneously, only retreating when he realized his 'Time' had expired. Before leaving, he imparted some advice about Neene to Riku.
Later, it was revealed that Takao had encountered Yui and inadvertently injured her while trying to protect her, which eventually led to her death as they rushed to the hospital. His true name is Takao Ryuusei.
