Ryo is a model who becomes entranced by Tomie's beauty, ultimately falling deeply in love with her. Despite his numerous efforts to win her affection, each attempt ends in rejection. This relentless cycle drives him to madness, leading him to kidnap, imprison, and torture Tomie, fueled by a desperate desire to inflict as much pain on her as possible.
Years down the line, Ryo reappears with a grotesquely disfigured face, having dedicated his life to eradicating Tomie. He succeeds in trapping the current incarnation of her inside a concrete block, a task he devotes the remainder of his days to, watching over it obsessively.
