Rufus is one of the main protagonists in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. As the only half-elf in existence apart from Odin, he refuses to accept his role as a replacement vessel. He is an Archer. Rufus has a witty, enthusiastic, and somewhat cocky demeanor, usually maintaining an optimistic and relaxed attitude. However, his origins are a sensitive topic for him. He harbors resentment towards the gods and is initially wary of Silmeria and other elves. He empathizes with Alicia's struggles and sees her fight as an opportunity to challenge his own fate. Throughout the game, he grows in confidence and ultimately chooses to take Odin's place on his own accord. His feelings for Alicia develop beyond mere camaraderie, and although these feelings are mutual, her decision to sacrifice herself to become the Valkyrie vessel prevents their relationship from fully blossoming.
