Ma Renka is Kensei’s 17-year-old daughter. She traveled to Japan in search of her father, intending to bring him back to China. Renka is a fair-skinned girl of average height. She has striking blue eyes and navy hair that reaches the middle of her back, intricately braided into two strands on each side of her head and one at the back, resembling cat ears and a tail. She also has chin-length bangs hanging over her eyes with looping sideburns. Similar to Miu, she possesses a notably curvaceous figure and a large bust, comparable in size to Miu's.
Renka often dresses in revealing Chinese attire, sometimes appearing quite skimpy, drawing attention to her chest and legs. This suggests she lacks modesty. She also wears bells behind each ear.
Initially, Renka treated Kenichi with disdain but soon developed a strong liking for him, showing it openly. This "strong liking" eventually evolved into "strong love," although she denies it. She frequently competes with Miu for Kenichi's attention, which irritates Miu and possibly makes her feel jealous. However, this jealousy is somewhat alleviated by Renka's catlike behavior, something both Miu and Nanjou Kisara find endearing, forming a recurring joke between them. Kisara also has a soft spot for Renka because of the cat bells.
After visiting the dojo, Renka began to appreciate Kenichi's martial arts style and later offered him advice on developing his own fighting style. She comes across as rather tomboyish and is hostile towards strangers, attacking anyone unfamiliar or considered an enemy, including Kenichi initially due to his perceived weakness. She has a strong sense of family loyalty, such as wanting to kill her uncle for disgracing the Ma family. She can be very forceful, using any means necessary to compel her father to return home with her.
There is a running gag where she chases moving objects, like when Kenichi surprised her by standing in front of her. Despite her aggressive tendencies, she is friendly and caring towards friends and family but will act forcefully if needed, calming down when Kenichi asks her to and becoming hyperactive in response. Around Kenichi, she tends to flirt and tries to win him over from Miu, making them rivals due to their feelings for him. With her father, she is annoyed by his perverted nature, usually putting him in his place and reminding him of his responsibilities at home. Nonetheless, she loves her father deeply.
