An assistant of Enma Ai, Ichimoku Ren appears as a handsome young man with one eye covered by his hair. He has the ability to manifest a single, very large eye that can be directed anywhere, allowing him to see through walls. This large eye can materialize on any surface, like a wall. The eye also serves as a weapon, capable of emitting intense flashes of light. When necessary, Ichimoku Ren can transform into a blue straw doll by kissing a pendant he wears around his neck. He is sometimes referred to as "Moku" or "Ichimoto Ren." It is later revealed that Ichimoku Ren is a tsukumogami, an artifact that has gained sentience after existing for a long time. In Ren's case, he was once a katana, forced to be aware and witness whatever actions were performed with him. Ai found and collected him after he was abandoned on a battlefield. Ai claims she sought him out because there is something Ren is searching for, a fact that may explain Ichimoku Ren's occasional confusion about human behavior.
