Takashi Natsume's grandmother, from whom he inherited the ability to see yokai. Reiko possessed high spiritual energy, which allowed her to see and seal yokai. Reiko was often shunned and even had rocks thrown at her because of her ability to see yokai. This isolation led her to create the Book of Friends; Reiko was lonely and yearned for companionship. Since she believed no human could understand her, she sought friendship among spirits. Reiko was exceptionally powerful and would challenge spirits to games. If they lost, she made them give her their names. She collected these names in the Book of Friends, granting her the power to summon any yokai whose name she held. A crucial part of the sealing process involved her saliva and breath. Madara noted that she had poor table manners and was quite forgetful. Reiko died at a young age, so no one remembered her.
