A warrior resisting the pacification of Japan, Raijuta seeks to assemble an army of the most formidable bandits to rise against the new Japanese government. He rescues Yutaro, a child from a wealthy family, aiming to leverage his resources for building his army.
Raijuta's fighting style, Shinko Ryu, allows him to launch a long-distance attack using the force of his katana, which travels through the air. This attack severely damages Yutaro's arm, causing permanent nerve injury. Ultimately, Raijuta and his rebellion are thwarted by Kenshin.
