A young boy with the unique ability to consume demons, Qwan possesses incredible strength and can endure a lot of physical pain. His quest is to eat as many demons as possible, although he himself is unsure of the reason behind it. Qwan does not eat human food and becomes frustrated when offered such meals. Upon learning about the 'Essential Arts of Peace,' he sets out on a mission to sneak into the royal palaces of China to consume the sutra and uncover his true identity and purpose on Earth. A symbol on his forehead reveals him to be a dog demon.
Later, it is revealed that Qwan's true form is that of a dog demon with a snake-skinned tail. He was sent to Earth to cleanse it of humans but lost his other half and forgot everything in the process. An event on Golden Turtle Island caused him to lose his powers and become an ordinary human. With Ukitsu's help, he and Shaga were transported back to Earth. Enjoying a brief period of peaceful life, Qwan must eventually confront the Yellow Turban threat, which aims to erase his existence. When Teikou asks Qwan what his wish is, Qwan expresses his desire to be a normal human, living with Daki and the bugs, laughing with friends, farming, and returning to the place where he was born.
