The main character of the series, she is sweet, innocent, and loyal. Ponta's feelings for Mirai can be described as love at first sight, at least from her perspective. Thanks to Grandpa Koizumi's invention, she transforms from a puppy into a small child that Mirai initially believes is feral. After Mirai saves her, Ponta repays him by regurgitating the bone onto his clothes, causing her to revert to her canine form. Some time later, Ponta has grown into a teenage dog and finally reunites with Mirai. Overjoyed, she follows him back to his house where she rediscovers the bone, leading Mirai to uncover her secret. However, it takes him about one more chapter to fully understand the situation. As Mirai's sweetheart, Ponta faces no shortage of rivals vying for his affection. Despite these challenges and her gradual adaptation to human life, she and Mirai remain devoted to each other.
