Position: Catcher Akaishi is a childhood friend of Kou and Wakaba, sharing the same age as them. In part one, he harbors a crush on Wakaba and feels jealous of the time Kou spends with her. During elementary school, Akaishi was prevented from pitching in Little League due to his tendency to get into fights with opposing teams. Despite this, he could throw a fastball at 100 km/h, yet Kou had the ability to hit a home run off his pitches. After Wakaba's death, Akaishi took up the position of catcher to fulfill her last dream—reaching Koushien with Kou as the pitcher and himself as the catcher. He now has feelings for Akane, who bears a strong resemblance to Wakaba. Because he did not take the placement test for the baseball club, Akaishi is part of the prefab team alongside Kou.
