A seventeen-year-old high school student, after his mother's death, runs away to find his father, whom he has never met, in order to escape his grandmother's strict rules. He is passionate about hockey and even loses half a tooth during one of his games. Protective of his overly naive father, he also struggles with confusion about his own sexuality.
