The leader of Scar Chain, a group of Deadmen opposing the prison and planning to expose the truth to the world, is Nagi. He speaks with a mechanical voice generated by a synthesizer, as his vocal cords were removed following a rigged fight with his lover, who was subsequently killed by Genkaku of the Undertakers. Nagi has a son, entrusted to a nursery outside the prison, and he fights for freedom to reunite with his child. His branch of sin is named "Owl's Eyeball," which generates small, floating explosive spheres that can be controlled and detonated remotely. It was later revealed that Nagi's son died in his mother's womb when Nagi's wife was killed. This tragedy led Nagi to develop a second, savagely inhuman personality, which went on to slaughter numerous Undertakers in vengeance. Genkaku became particularly fascinated by this and later drugged Nagi to bring out this side of him. This caused Nagi to temporarily revert to his second personality and attack his own comrades. Ganta managed to bring Nagi back to his senses, but then Genkaku fatally wounded Nagi by blasting a hole in his stomach, claiming that he loves Nagi's dark side and will kill Nagi to bring him salvation if he chooses to remain the person he is. However, Nagi still managed to prevent Genkaku from dodging Ganta's powerful attack, which permanently incapacitated Genkaku, and Nagi died shortly afterwards.
