Leia and Mr. Jones appeared in an episode where Dr. Kenzo Tenma and Dieter were trying to hitch a ride to Freiham. The elderly English couple seemed to be on a "vacation" in Germany following Mr. Jones's retirement from his previous job as a policeman. When Leia spotted Tenma and Dieter by the roadside, she convinced her husband to give them a lift, despite his reluctance. However, when their car ran low on fuel and Tenma left with Dieter to find help, promising to return, the couple did not expect him to come back several hours later with borrowed jerry cans after walking down the road.
Afterwards, the couple treated Tenma and Dieter to dinner at a restaurant, where Tenma recommended they order a bottle of ungeheuer wine. While Mr. Jones, unlike his understanding wife, remained suspicious of Tenma throughout their encounter due to his instincts as an ex-policeman (similar to Inspector Lunge), it was revealed that his suspicions might have been misplaced. This became evident when the group made a detour to visit Steinbach Castle. There, after reminiscing about how their son Robert had fondly described the castle’s beauty in a letter, they sadly recalled that Robert had committed a murder there.
After parting ways with Tenma and Dieter, the couple traveled to Stadelheim Prison in Munich, where Robert was incarcerated. Before entering, Mr. Jones confessed to Leia that he knew Tenma was a fugitive after their earlier visit to the police station but believed in his innocence, much like he wanted to believe about Robert.
