According to Another Monster, he served as the lieutenant to a prominent figure in organized crime and was responsible for safeguarding the syndicate's assets. At one point, under his guidance, the syndicate invested in an underground banking organization that facilitated money laundering. However, upon hearing rumors about the underground bank (secretly operated by Johan Liebert), he insisted on withdrawing the syndicate’s assets, which he did just before the bank collapsed into chaos and betrayal. Later, most of his family disowned him due to his criminal activities, and his superior attempted to have him assassinated because he facilitated financial transfers with a rival syndicate. He then went into hiding near Füssen at a secluded mountaintop villa.
There, he sought medical attention from Dr. Kenzo Tenma, who was working as a black market doctor at the time. Dr. Tenma was accompanied by Dieter and Otto Heckel. During lunch, Heckel introduced him to his recipe for chicken marengo (Napoleon’s favorite dish), and he found the meal delicious as they ate together outside. Despite his bodyguard's duty to guard the only accessible path to the villa, he allowed the bodyguard to join them for the meal. Dieter went down the mountain to retrieve the bodyguard but instead encountered Eva Heinemann, accompanied by Roberto, both seeking Tenma and aware of Heitmeyer’s location and connection to him. Although Eva had no intention of seeing her former fiancé dead, she was wounded in the leg by Roberto.
Luckily, Eva was treated by Tenma after Dieter stayed by her side. Afterwards, she was placed under Heitmeyer’s care. When she regained consciousness, he took care of her, and they shared a lunch of chicken marengo. He commented on how lucky she was and what a beautiful day it was. He was interviewed by Werner Weber under the condition that his real name not be used. (Source: Monster Wiki)
