Height: 5'6" Motoko Kusanagi is a mysterious, enigmatic woman who has led a SpecOps group for years and was recruited by Aramaki to join Section 9. Little is known about her background, origins, or birthdate. She is likely not older than 60, as full-cyborgization became widespread around that time. Kusanagi underwent full cyborgization at a very young age, progressing through various artificial bodies as she "grew." This experience likely contributed significantly to her exceptional skill in controlling different types of cyborg bodies, even multiple simultaneously. Her prowess as a hacker is equally impressive; she is officially registered as a Super Wizard Class Hacker, demonstrating equal ease whether in a cyborg body or diving into the net without one. In terms of her romantic life, there are no official involvements with anyone in the Stand Alone Complex series. However, in the original manga, she is portrayed as bisexual and had a relationship with the leader of Section 1 for some time. In the SAC universe, it is revealed that Hideo Kuze is the first person she ever loved, while her relationship with Batou appears to be one of close platonic trust. Regardless of her actual age, Major Kusanagi now prefers the body of a woman in her twenties. She is most often recognized by her short violet hair and violet eyes in her Stand Alone Complex design. Her Arise design showcases her with short, indigo hair and blue eyes, depicting her at a younger age as she fights for autonomy from Unit 501 of the Army.
