miyazawa miyako

Miyazawa Hiroyuki and Miyako Miyazawa are the parents of Yukino, Tsukino, and Kano. They first met as children and got married right after high school, much to the dismay of Miyako's father. When Hiroyuki proposed to Miyako, her father beat him severely. Even now, Hiroyuki often bickers with his father-in-law, complaining that the old man can't let go of his daughter. Miyako's father was a policeman, and Hiroyuki had an unfortunate encounter with him; he was caught riding Miyako's new bike forcefully along with his friends. Hiroyuki, an orphan raised by his grandfather, places great value on family, a sentiment shared by Miyako, who lost her mother as a child. He loves his three daughters deeply and is often seen wearing a t-shirt that says "Daughter Love." His daughters, however, frequently tease him or treat him rudely, such as telling him to "Shut up, Dad!" which makes him sulk comically. One of these infamous t-shirts ends up being worn by Soichiro when he gets caught in a storm while walking Yukino home. Hiroyuki and Miyako are laid-back parents who believe in letting their children make their own life decisions.
