A recurring character, Miwa sometimes appears as a customer and other times as a narrator. Miwa first visits Eden Hall to ask Ryū to identify the spirit contained in a bottle she broke during her childhood. As a child, Miwa was an only child. One day, her father proposed to her grandfather, who ran an inn, to transform it into a modern, comfortable hotel-like bar to meet the changing era and customer demands. However, Miwa's grandfather was hesitant and declined the proposal. This decision led to a growing distance between Miwa's father and grandfather. One day, Miwa's father called her grandfather to taste a special drink he wanted to present. On that fateful day, Miwa, holding the bottle tightly, ran towards her grandfather but tripped, causing the bottle inside the bag to break and spill its contents. Feeling guilty, Miwa believed that if they had shared the drink together, her father and grandfather wouldn't have drifted apart. Shortly after, Miwa's parents were killed in a car accident, halting her chance of ever discovering the name of the special drink. After discussions with Ryū, the mystery of the drink was solved, allowing Miwa to finally offer her grandfather a taste. The drink was Suntory's Kakubin (referred to in the show as "Kaku"). Following this episode, Miwa appears frequently as a side or minor character, often narrating parts of the story. She became a regular visitor at Eden Hall and even invited one of her friends to the bar. In episode 7, Miwa takes care of Ryū after he falls sick, though she couldn't get a doctor. In the manga version of Bartender, Miwa works for Kamishima, the first customer featured in the anime.
