Misao is an orphan residing in a nunnery with kind-hearted women. Known as the "Maiden of Water," her blood has the power to resurrect the 88 beasts that were banished a millennium ago. This makes her a target for the Shiranami Five. Despite others fearing and perceiving "Sakurai" (Aiguma) as psychotic, Misao wishes to befriend him.
Misao is a shy, innocent, and compassionate girl who has always tried to live her life in a way she deems right. When Ishigami approaches her for help to prevent the resurrection of the 88 Beasts, Misao finds her voice for the first time and gains newfound confidence and inner strength. This awakening also seems to have brought out her true self, the "Girl of Water," who will not hesitate to unleash her wrath on those who oppose her.
