Minatsuki is the younger sister of Yoh Takami and a Deadman known as "Hummingbird" within the complex. Initially, she presents herself as an extremely shy and reserved young girl who cannot bear violence or reminders of her tragic past. However, this demeanor is soon revealed to be a ruse designed to lull opponents into underestimating her. In reality, Minatsuki is highly sadistic, taking sexual pleasure from witnessing the pain on her victims' faces. She particularly enjoys seeing her brother blame himself for their father's death, although he does know the true circumstances. After being defeated by Ganta, she somewhat reconciles with both Yoh and Ganta, but still often lashes out at them. Her Branch of Sin is called "Whip Wing," which uses blood from her ears to create whips that can swiftly strike and immobilize targets. Her sadistic nature stems from her traumatic experience during an earthquake. When the earthquake struck Japan, Minatsuki was with her mother. Believing her mother was coming to rescue her, Minatsuki instead watched as her mother picked up a plant and fled, leaving her behind until her brother eventually saved her. This event marked the beginning of her sadistic tendencies and deep-seated hatred towards humanity.
