amagi mikaru

Mikaru is the girl who discovers Kaito after he has lost his memories. Despite her wealthy background, she feels profoundly lonely and has lost all hope. She falls deeply in love with Kaito to the extent that, from Lucia's perspective, he seems to have forgotten his mermaid love entirely. Mikaru becomes desperate for Kaito to reciprocate her feelings. Additionally, Mikaru appears to be frail, often collapsing whenever Mikeru appears elsewhere or when Kaito is near Lucia, as she tries to keep Kaito for herself.

In the manga, when Kaito declares that he loves only Lucia and cannot return Mikaru's feelings, Mikaru, in a desperate attempt to keep him, offers herself to him. However, Kaito turns away and leaves. This rejection triggers her collapses and enables Mikeru to take control of her. Ultimately, Mikaru is reborn and entrusted to her brother to raise her anew.
