She is the main character of Akuma to Dolce. As the daughter of a demon-summoner, she also has the ability to summon demons. In the story, her parents are abroad, leaving her to live alone. However, she utilizes her abilities to assist with daily tasks, offering small treats to the familiar that helps her in return. She is also an exceptional baker, which enhances her reputation among lesser demons, though she usually only summons "Chibi-chan". One day, she accidentally summons Belze, a high-level and aristocratic demon, to remove a stain from her skirt. Seeing the meager offering (a small piece of candy), Belze is enraged and nearly kills her until he catches the scent of the tarts she baked earlier. Clearly having a sweet tooth, Mayuri offers the tarts to Belze, and from that moment on, their relationship begins to grow. Belze gives Mayuri his personal summoning circle so she can call on him whenever she has sweets, in exchange for small favors, of course. Somewhere along the way, a female demon claiming to be Belze's fiancée is introduced. Jealous of Mayuri's baking skills that captured Belze's attention so easily, she persuades Mayuri to teach her how to bake. After Mayuri helps the female demon bake a cake, she exposes Mayuri to a poison meant for humans. The female demon then steals Mayuri's form and goes to give Belze the treats she made. Seeing how nicely Belze treats "Mayuri", the female demon becomes outraged and soon leaves. Belze searches for her and discovers the dying Mayuri. Mayuri is ultimately cured, thanks to Belze's order to make a cure from the female demon. During her near-death experience, Mayuri has a recurring nightmare where she sees Belze and realizes her feelings for him. After waking up, she immediately looks for him. Seeing him hiding behind the trees outside her house, she tackles him, only to find that he was crying. Her feelings for him deepen even more.
