Maou the Great Stygian of Abe (Temp) is a demon and serves as the final boss in the game that Nagi plays during episode 10. She has a talking skull named Gaikotsu perched on her head, which punishes her whenever she attempts to aid the protagonists. Maō is bound to her throne and dwells within her fortress atop a tower. Her goal is to ensnare a hero from the real world using her guillotine fishing rod, forcing them into the game and subsequently sending them to the underworld. Maō's speech pattern includes ending sentences with 'tima,' possibly referencing Ultima. She parodies Asahina Mikuru from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, mimicking Mikuru's "Mikuru Beam" pose and maid outfit. Additionally, Maou appears as a quiz show host in episode 50 and features in the inner cover comic of Volume 13, found beneath the dust jacket and featuring Nadja Orumuzuto.
