Maiko is a 20-year-old college freshman who received Haruka's blood following her car accident. This incident required her to undergo multiple blood transfusions from various donors, including Haruka. Unable to move on from the loss of his wife, Yukiya Nagase found that Maiko had inherited Haruka's memories. As a result, Maiko moved in with Yukiya Nagase and his son Touya.
