magnus lion

Leon Magnus is a master swordsman of Seinegald - at age 16, the youngest in history to serve the kingdom. He is also a close associate of Hugo Gilchrist, the president of the powerful Oberon Company. Leon's character is complex and slightly brooding. His agile Swordian, Chaltier, uses fast attacks and spells that can devastate opponents. In battle, Leon does not waste time or effort. Biography Early life: Leon was born Emilio Gilchrist or Emilio Katrea, the second child of Hugo Gilchrist, President of the Oberon Corporation, and his wife Chris Katrea. He has an older sister named Rutee Katrea, two years his senior. During his childhood, Leon was attached to a girl named Marian. The family possessed Swordians, including Atwight, the Swordian of Water, and Chaltier, the Swordian of Earth, which Emilio received and became its master. One day, Hugo encountered a Swordian named Berselius, possessing the soul of Kronos, leader of the Ae'therians. Gradually losing his sanity due to Kronos' influence, Hugo killed Chris but managed to send Rutee and Atwight away for her protection. Before he could save Emilio, Hugo was completely consumed by insanity. He trained Emilio to be a cold-hearted warrior, had him change his name to Leon Magnus, and brought Marian into his house as a maid, threatening her life if Leon disobeyed. Leon despised his father but followed Hugo's orders. As he trained, Leon showed great swordsmanship and discipline. Due to Hugo's association with the Kingdom of Seinegald, Leon soon became the Knight Captain of the Kingdom. The hunt for the Eye of Atamoni: While serving the kingdom, Leon learns about Rutee, now a Lens Hunter with a bad reputation. He catches up with her and her partners, Mary Argent and Stahn Aileron. Recognizing her as his sister, Leon pretends not to know her and quickly arrests her group. Noticing Stahn possesses Dymlos, the Swordian of Fire, Leon confiscates their weapons and sends them to the dungeon. Hugo later frees them to investigate the disappearance of the Eye of Atamoni from the Straylize Temple. Leon accompanies them to ensure loyalty, much to his chagrin. After giving back their weapons, Leon briefly talks with Marian before leaving. During the journey, Leon must show authority to control Stahn and the others. They discover the Eye of Atamoni was stolen by High Priest Lydon. Joined by Philia Felice, a priestess who receives Clemente, the Swordian of Lightning, Leon sets out to hunt down Lydon. They head to Calvalese and contact Baruk, the Branch Manager of Oberon Cooperation. Lydon had visited the region but left for Fitzgald. Leon gets his group heading to Neuestadt, contacting Branch Manager Ilene and agreeing to capture a suspicious group of Lens Pirates. They succeed in capturing Batista, Philia's former friend. To interrogate Batista, Leon puts Mary's tiara on Batista's head. When Batista faints without revealing information, Leon leaves him in a room with an unlocked door. As expected, Batista escapes, and the tiara broadcasts his location, Aquaveil. Leon confronts Batista in Moreau, where Batista commits suicide. Confronting Lydon and King Tiberius in Terazzi, they defeat Tiberius, but Lydon escapes to Phandaria. Tiberius reveals Seinegald will be destroyed by Lydon and the Eye of Atamoni. Unable to hear his country insulted, Leon kills Tiberius. Recognizing Karyl's will to avenge his parents, Leon apologizes for snatching Karyl's chance to extract revenge personally. They head to Phandaria, helped by prince Garr Kelvin, and defeat Lydon. Leon uses a special disc on each Swordian to calm the Eye of Atamoni. The mission is successful, and Leon reports to the King and returns home. Betrayal and Death: The disc is a ploy by Hugo to steal the Eye of Atamoni again to bring back the floating continent, Aethersphere, for world domination. Reluctantly, Leon helps Hugo, who uses Marian to threaten and coax him. Stahn learns about this and pursues Hugo to an abandoned mine below Libra IV. Hugo sends Leon to hold them at bay. Leon consciously accepts the task to protect Marian, revealing his relationship with Rutee but attacking them nonetheless. Eventually, Leon is defeated. In the original Tales of Destiny, as they fight, the mine floods with water, washing Stahn and his group away, while Leon stays behind, too injured to move. He gives a last laugh and farewell to Marian before dying. In the game's PlayStation 2 remake, Leon sends Stahn away through an elevator as his injuries (and guilt) prevent him from joining. As the mine starts to flood, he apologizes to Chaltier for bringing him into all this. As he drowns, he asks Marian from far away, "Will this be all right? Marian..." Nonetheless, Leon is killed. During Stahn's final confrontation with Kronos, the latter conjures a zombie in Leon's form for them to fight against (only in the original game; the remake does not feature this fight). Stahn and his group emerge victorious, defeat Kronos, and save the world. Leon Magnus is a character from Tales of Destiny and its sequel, Tales of Destiny 2 as Judas. A cold-hearted, brooding young prodigy of a swordsman from Seinegald, Leon is the youngest master swordsman to become a captain of the Kingdom of Seinegald. He lives in Hugo Gilchrist's manor in Darilsheid. Although he shows a cold exterior to his associates, he opens up to a maid named Marian. Throughout the saga of Tales of Destiny, Leon goes by three other names: Emilio Katrea, Emilio Gilchrist, and Judas (in Tales of Destiny 2).
