karasuma kyoko

Kyoko Karasuma is a 16-year-old police inspector hailing from Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. Despite her youth, she is regarded as one of the top inspectors in Asakusa and is part of the special Security Division of the Tokyo Police Department. This division was established to hunt down and eliminate individuals with horns on their heads. As a police inspector, Kyoko exhibits a rather cold demeanor. On duty, she seldom smiles and does not derive joy from exterminating Oni. Raised by her mentor and chief, Kozo Mitamura, she owes him everything. Despite her young age, everyone in the bureau recognizes her as the best inspector in the department. When not handling cases, she is remarkably calm and serene. Kyoko descends from one of the two most prominent Oni families, the Karasuma Family. Her father was killed 20 years ago by Kozo Mitamura. At that time, he was part of a special unit called "Maruki," tasked with eliminating Oni. He eventually found Kyoko's family and killed her father (an Oni) because he was forcing Kyoko's mother into marriage. Mitamura developed feelings for Kyoko's mother, which is why he spared Kyoko; she bore a striking resemblance to her mother. Eventually, Kyoko meets an Oni named Kirio Uchida, a member of the Uchida family, the other great Oni lineage. Through their first duel, she learns that she is a descendant of a great Oni lineage. From that moment on, she begins to question herself and loses confidence.
