During his junior high school years, Kyouhei was part of the youth club and identified as a yankee. At that time, he had blonde hair but later dyed it black. This change was due to his older brother, Kudoh, copying his hairstyle, which Kyouhei disliked. As a result, Kyouhei tends to reject anything his brother shows interest in, including potential romantic interests. He has a habit of agreeing to dates with any girl who asks, not fully understanding the concept of love. The only girl he ever turned down was Yamada Miku. When Miku first attempted to confess her feelings, Kyouhei interrupted her with a bizarre question about her resemblance to Hikita Tenkou, earning him a punch.
