karakuchi kouji
Rosewood Private School student Kouji (in the Japanese version, he attends Seidou Gakuen, meaning Bronze Institute) is the pampered and somewhat snobbish son of an extremely wealthy family. A formidable medafighter, Kouji and his Medabot Sumilidon are legendary for their undefeated robattle record. Kouji and Ikki are rivals but manage to coexist due to their shared admiration for Karin. Kouji consistently trains rigorously with Sumilidon, striving to perfect the Shadow Sword technique taught by Space Medafighter X. He considers himself Karin's boyfriend. Kouji has a phobia of insects, stemming from a childhood incident where he collected a mantis egg case and forgot about it, leading to a swarm of mantises that terrified him. This fear extends to the Medabot Spidar, which he dubs a big bug, although he appears indifferent or unaware of Metabee's resemblance to a Hercules Beetle. Alongside Ikki and Space Medafighter X, Kouji participates in the World Robattle Tournament as part of Team Japan.
