shokatsu kouan

Shokatsu Kouan is a disciple of Ma Ryou (Hakubi) and partners with Ryuu Genson. He wears glasses and suspenders, portraying himself as the more composed and courteous of the duo. Though capable of diplomacy, he's equally prepared to resort to force like his counterpart.
Accompanied by Ryuu, Shokatsu is dispatched by Hakubi to retrieve his grandniece, Ma Renka. Their mission leads them into a confrontation with Kenichi at an aquatic park. During this encounter, Shokatsu is momentarily taken aback by Kenichi’s formidable leg strength, resulting in his temporary defeat. Following the skirmish, both Shokatsu and Ryuu express remorse for their conduct, elucidating their circumstances. The more affable Shokatsu even commends their adversaries' prowess before departing with Renka towards Hakubi's residence.
In a subsequent development during the Yami arc, Shokatsu and Ryuu reappear as escorts for Renka on her inaugural day at Kouryuu High. They encounter a master from China but, with the assistance of Takeda Ikki, they swiftly secure victory.
