Kolulu is one of the numerous mamodos sent to Earth to decide who would become the next mamodo king. Unlike most mamodos, Kolulu did not wish to come to Earth for battle, so she was given a secondary personality that emerged during fights. However, this fierce personality only persisted if her book reader repeatedly chanted spells. Kolulu's book reader was a teenage girl whom she viewed as her elder sister.

The book reader even crafted a doll by hand for Kolulu, which she named Tina. It was Kolulu who inspired Zatch to aspire to be a kind king, hoping that he could change things so that future mamodos wouldn't have to fight to determine their king.
