Kaon, also known as "Kaon of the Moon Spiral," is the Absolute Angel Murakumo, referencing the mecha/deity Ame no Murakumo from Kannazuki no Miko. As a student at the Higashigetsu Fūma Witch Academy, she carries out attacks on Kū and her friends under Mika's orders. Unlike Tarlotte, she does not seem to feed on the energy of innocent bystanders. Himiko usually accompanies her. Despite being Mika's 'trusted sword,' Kaon has a deep affection for Himiko, though she initially denies their relationship is romantic. Kaon (歌音) derives from Chikane Himemiya (千歌音), her alter ego in Kannazuki no Miko, and is considered Chikane's reincarnation. She shows a strong desire to protect Himiko, even at great personal cost, mirroring Chikane's devotion to Himeko. Her Absolute Angel mark is on her left arm. At one point, Mika removes Kaon's mark and replaces it with her own after subjecting Kaon to a torturous process to enhance Murakumo's power and restrict Kaon to drawing energy only from Mika. This changes Kaon's personality and severs her emotional bond with Himiko, causing Himiko great distress. Later events reveal that Kaon's true nature and affections still lie beneath the damage inflicted by Mika's torments. Her mark is restored when Himiko kisses Kaon, expressing her love for her.
