kotonami kanae

Kotonami's character initially seemed poised to be the antagonist to Kyouko's angelic persona. However, like all the female characters in this series, Kanae is far kinder than she lets on. Though there was some initial friction between them, both girls were seeking genuine friendship and found it in one another. Kanae aspired intensely to become a star and attended the same audition as Kyouko. Despite performing better than Kyouko, she too failed. She became the second member of Love Me, leveraging this opportunity to her benefit. Kanae maintains a tough exterior but battles with self-consciousness and doubts herself frequently. It is later uncovered that Kotonami struggles with interacting with children, a result of growing up in a large family with an overwhelming number of nieces, nephews, and siblings.
As the series unfolds, she forges a friendship with Kyouko.
