mizuhara kana

Kana is a spirited, tomboyish character who excels in virtually every sport she tries. Brave, athletic, and quite attractive, she has also been described as having a heart "big enough to float a planet." Her willingness to help others often draws Sou into various cases. She first meets Sou when she rescues him from an attack by a bully at a video arcade. Despite warnings from her close friend that Sou is mysterious—having transferred to their high school after leaving MIT—she decides not to leave him alone. Soon after, her friend's father is murdered, leading Kana to seek Sou's support as they investigate together. Her father, Detective Mizuhara, heads the case, and with Sou's assistance, they apprehend the murderer. Since then, Kana and Sou have become nearly inseparable, with Kana frequently dragging Sou along wherever she goes. She firmly denies any romantic relationship between them, but there are many hints in the manga suggesting she is gradually developing feelings for him. The lack of knowledge about Sou's past troubles her, and she often tries to uncover more about him, even secretly following him after school. What little she learns either impresses her or saddens her, given the hardships Sou has faced. Kana is a popular student and often takes on leadership roles. She practices judo and kendo, with her judo skills proving useful in self-defense and apprehending suspects. She is also known for her violent tendencies, showing no mercy to anyone who suggests there is more to her relationship with Sou than friendship.
