Kaho Mizuki is a shrine maiden and the daughter of the priest at the Tsukimine Shrine. She initially appears in the series as a substitute teacher at Tomoeda Elementary School, teaching math to Sakura Kinomoto and Syaoran Li. While Sakura feels an instant connection with Kaho, Syaoran remains suspicious of her intentions.
When Sakura, Syaoran, Meiling, and Tomoyo are trapped by the Maze card, Kaho uses a mysterious bell to break through the walls, allowing Sakura to capture the card. It is later revealed that Sakura's older brother, Toya, had dated Kaho when she was his junior high school teacher. They broke up when Kaho left to study in England, and she predicted they would both be in love with different people when they met again, which indeed came true.
After meeting Kaho, Cerberus mistakenly believes she is the false form of Yue, but it is later revealed that Yukito Tsukishiro is actually Yue's human form. Kaho's role is to provide Sakura with a magical bell from her family’s shrine, which transforms Sakura's staff into a new one imbued with her own star power. This allows Sakura to defeat Yue without fear of hurting him. After fulfilling her duty, Kaho returns to England.
In the third season, Kaho primarily communicates with Sakura through letters, offering cryptic advice about the mysterious attacks. It is revealed that Kaho had met Eriol Hiiragizawa three years before Sakura discovered the Book of the Clow. As they leave for England, Kaho and Eriol confess their feelings for each other and decide to stay together. In the anime, Kaho is last seen in the second film, expressing concern for Sakura and her friends during the incidents with the final card.
