He was once Youhei's rival and now views Riku as his successor, given that Riku possesses Youhei's Jinki core. Joe has a distinctive cross-shaped scar on his forehead and is recognized for his blond hair and habit of wearing sunglasses indoors or even at night. Interestingly, he prefers using the English pronoun "you" rather than its Japanese counterpart. Upon introduction, both he and Clara mentioned being one-quarter Japanese.
