She is a college freshman and a friend of Jin-Ho's. She was the co-founder and former president of the film studies club, as well as the former president of the student council. Despite her flirtatious nature with him, Jin-Ho feels at ease confiding in her about his relationship issues. There are also indications that Jin-Ho might have harbored deeper feelings for her during their high school days. It appears that Jin-Ho has become more distant with girls since she left. There are suggestions that Jae-Kyung has romantic feelings towards Jin-Ho. This is most evident when she breaks up with her boyfriend and seeks comfort from Jin-Ho, while acting coldly towards Hae-Young upon learning he was waiting for her. Caroline even mentions that Jae-Kyung is one of Hae-Young's rivals. Later, it is revealed that Jae-Kyung was initially afraid to pursue a romantic relationship with Jin-Ho. She secretly believed that he would still like her when she left, expressing regret for not advancing beyond friendship with him. During these times, she has demonstrated a certain level of deviousness. She states that she would sabotage any relationship Jin-Ho has with Hae-Young, claiming she truly loves him and must prevent him from making the wrong choice. She has subtly manipulated both Hae-Young and Ji-Soo, showing some ruthlessness by intending to seduce Jin-Ho and being willing to have sex with him to make him hers. Her plan fails as Jin-Ho turns her down. Realizing she missed her chance to be with Jin-Ho, Jae-Kyung encourages him to go to the woman he loves and shows her true feelings by crying after he leaves.
