Ogata is the Saint Fist of Yami's One Shadow Nine Fists. He is the master of Asamiya Ryuuto and the first individual introduced who embarked on the Path of Asura. Standing tall with long, light purple hair reaching his waist, he has a muscular build and a serene face. Typically dressed in a cloak with bandages around his wrists and a buckle belt around his waist for carrying items.
Similar to Alexander Gaidar and Diego Carlo, Ogata harbors a far more aggressive side beneath his calm exterior but exhibits slightly better control, only losing his temper when provoked or challenged. He seems to be a sociopath, capable of shifting his demeanor instantly.
Upon meeting Kenichi for the first time, Ogata comes across as a kind man seeking redemption. However, during his fight with a bear, he reveals his true nature by continuing to attack even after the bear was already dead. He shows no moral compass or concern for others, often manipulating people to serve his needs, even using them as test subjects for developing new techniques.
Ryuuto respects him much like other Yomi members respect their masters. Nevertheless, Ogata's relationship with his disciple appears two-faced; he trains Ryuuto with several extremely high-level techniques but also uses him as a test subject for untested techniques like the Seidou Goui without regard for his well-being.
Originally, Ogata was intended to be Ryozanpaku's very first disciple before Kenichi. However, the elder discerned his malevolent intentions. After leaving Ryozanpaku, he encountered Ryuuto, who witnessed his battle against two armed opponents. Quickly defeating them, Ogata demonstrated that martial arts killing still exists and took Ryuuto as his disciple.
