Developed the Nadesico's Phase Transition system for Nergal on Mars before it faced an invasion; when the ship returned to the planet, she boarded it, noting that the surviving colonists refused evacuation, convinced the ship would soon be destroyed. However, an attack shortly after forced the grounded Nadesico to activate its shields, which crushed the underground colonists and left her as the sole survivor. It is later revealed that Inez is actually Ai-chan from Mars, at the beginning of the series, during the Jovian Lizards' attack on Mars. She escaped in the same manner as Akito but traveled so far back in time that she ages into a woman by the next time Akito encounters her.
