Tsujiai is a classmate of Kaji, Ayu, and Nina. He serves as the head of the boys' tennis club and has a somewhat flamboyant personality. Ayu appears to dislike him because, initially, he always seemed to sabotage her attempts to get closer to Kaji in one way or another. Tsujiai introduces Nina to Doraemon, which she adores. His closest friend is Kaji, and his affection for Nina becomes more evident in the manga than in the anime. He owns a cat named Shinnosuke and is the third person to discover that Nina was a magical girl after witnessing Rio the cat transform into a human.
